As the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic continues to impact long-term post-acute care (LTPAC) organizations across the U.S., providers need solutions that meet the needs of residents and keep them safe. PointClickCare® now offers three vital solutions designed to streamline workflow and adapt to specialized post-acute care provider requirements amid today’s COVID-19 landscape—all at no cost.

Secure Conversations empowers staff with the ability to quickly communicate with practitioners and other staff. Many integrated partners of PointClickCare are offering solutions to post-acute care providers to address current pain points related to COVID-19. Integration solutions offered include platforms to communicate with residents’ family members, coordinate care, manage post-acute care providers’ workforce, deliver telehealth/telemedicine and more. The Practitioner Engagement Mobile Application allows practitioners the ability to manage care from mobile devices. Utilization of the Practitioner Engagement Mobile Application can reduce the need for practitioners to enter facilities to sign orders, complete order reviews or review pertinent data. Decreasing the frequency of in-person visits may decrease the risk of exposure to COVID-19. The COVID-19 pandemic requires post-acute care providers to revise practices to better protect the safety and health of residents and staff.  Deployment of new tools may enable enhanced navigation and management of this unprecedented pandemic.

Secure Conversations

For a limited time (April 1-June 30, 2020), no-cost access is being offered to Secure Conversations to allow clinical staff to send HIPAA-compliant text messages directly to a practitioner’s mobile device, reducing the time it takes to make clinical care decisions. This feature enables quick, easy and HIPAA-compliant communication to practitioners and among staff.

Waiving the Third-Party Interface Fee

Waiving the third-party interface fee provides customers with a gateway to adopt partner solutions that are integrated to the PointClickCare EHR in the areas of Telehealth, Visitor Management, and Resident & Family Engagement. A complete vendor list, including limited-time concessions offered by partners, can be found on the PointClickCare MarketPlace, as well as here.

 Practitioner Engagement

For a limited time (April 1-June 30, 2020), no-cost access is being offered to the Practitioner Engagement Mobile Application. This application allows practitioners and physicians to use their mobile devices to view charts including pertinent data such as progress notes, vitals and more; electronically submit and sign orders; and have secure HIPAA-compliant text conversations for residents in care. This will allow physicians to manage resident care without risking exposure to COVID-19. The Practitioner Engagement Web Application is available for no extra cost at all times and can be used on desktop and laptop computers.  In it, the practitioner will have access to the following:

  • Mobile Patient Charts

Practitioner Engagement enables practitioners to access a patient chart anytime, anywhere and across all facilities within an organization. Increased interoperability provides quicker, easier access to history and trends. For example, in a matter of minutes, a physician can use his/her mobile device to follow up on a patient he/she prescribed high blood pressure medicine for. Touchscreen technology allows the physician to easily navigate through the patient’s chart to view blood pressure trends for the last seven results or days.

  • Mobile Physician Encounters

With ready access to document progress notes anytime, anywhere, practitioners can be confident the whole team knows what’s going on, and remains coordinated in the delivery of quality care.

  • Mobile Order Signatures

PointClickCare’s mobile-enabled, automated order process eliminates error-prone and time-consuming processes based on paper and phone calls. Order processing used to be one of the most challenging operational problems facing long-term care practitioners. To meet compliance requirements, practitioners had to co-sign telephone and verbal orders, and complete the order processing cycle by making a special trip to the facilities to provide a ‘wet signature’ on reams of paper. Now, practitioners can review and electronically bulk sign telephone and verbal orders with a touch of a button using PointClickCare’s HIPAA-compliant mobile application for Practitioner Engagement.

  • EHR Integration and Interoperability

Only PointClickCare allows full mobile access into the facility’s EHR—creating stronger connections for better care. With access to clinical-rich data, Practitioner Engagement paves the way for enhanced interoperability enabling better decisions about care. Leveraging the integration of PointClickCare’s EHR, the output on the decision follows the patient and is directly integrated into the patient’s chart on the facility’s EHR.
